Windows XP and AOL 7

I'm asking this for a friend so no rude comments about AOL 😀. My friend is running Windows XP and AOL 7. When they save an image that is a jpeg it won't let them save as anything other than .art or .bmp. If you just click save it saves it as whatever.jpg but its an .art file in reality, so no program will recognize it unless you rename it. I went into IE and cleared temp internet files and it worked for a little bit, then it changed back to the same problem. The problem went away in IE when I cleared the temp files, though! Anyway to fix this? I know the person can just put the .art extension when saving the file but they are very picky and don't like to have to type 4 characters.

AOL 7.0 will save images as *.art files if you have web compression enabled. To disable it, do the following:
From AOL toolbar click on Settings >> Preferences >> Internet Properties (WWW) >> Web Graphics >> Never Compress Graphics.

Enjoy!
