Heres specs first: abit vh6 133a, 733 pentium3 133 bus, gts 32mb geforce, 13.4 gb western drive, cdrw and cdrom both creative, sound blaster live. ok my issue is i was running windows 2000 pro with 2 sticks of pc 133 128mb each one, 1 stick is a probly just generic brand but gets really good performance and the other stick of ram is PNY in the bios for all the memory settings i had it set to dram bank interleave: 4-way / delay dram read latch: no delay / sdram cycle lenght: 2 / memory hole: disabled wich i never messed with anyways. bank 0/1, 2/3, 4/5 dram timing: turbo / fast r-w turn around: enabled / system and video ram cacheable to disabled / agp aperture size 64mb / agp-4X mode: enabled / agp driving control: auto / fast write support: enabled / agp master 1 ws write: enabled / agp master 1 ws read: enabled/ Ok these are my settings with 2 sticks of ram 128mb running at 133 bus and windows 2000 or even 98 ran good no issues at all no stabilty issues at all all my games ran very good it was just perfect, ok then i went to best buy and got 1 more 128mb ram pc133 PNY for 24.99 with 15 dollars rebate, by the way my abit board only has three slots for ram, ok so i put the stick in to board with the same settings in bios booted up pc the post screen recognize the added ram then i go to desktop seems ok no issue well i know some games and application are more sensitive to others when ever u have bios settings high i guess, wich cause stability issues i guess tell me if i'm wrong, ok i load up quake3 1.30 final release, the demo quake3 hasd these same issues what happens is when i play in single mode or multiplayer mode the games runs for a couple minutes then it either stops right in the middle of playing like freeze or it kind of goes to the desktop with the screen all messed up u see the desktop but u still see quake3 game a little and with windows 2000 basic error windows it says something like quake3.exe program error something like that then i have to reboot =cause its all messed up, or sometimes when i play for a few minutes before it has the chance of locking up or semi crashing to desktop, what i do is close it out on purpose so i can go to desktop, it freezes at the desktop when its drawing the icons from the deskop what i see is icons on my desktop but the the surrounding area is black screen so i have to manually reboot pc again. ok this happens in windows 2000 pro and XP pro too so i know it happen right after i put the new ram, which settings in bios would make this issue happen what do u guys think is it a settings or is it bad ram, what i did is put the delay dram read latch to auto instead of no delay and put the dram bank interleave to auto instead of 4-way and i really havent tested long yet cause it was late but seems like it was better it wasnt freezing or crashing and i'm talkin about quake3 here when i go to the internet or messing around with burning or whatever not playing any games i dont have these issues. can u guys give me some pointers about this issue why by just adding ram 1 more is it normal not to have it at 4-way when u have three sticks of ram. please help me.
