Windows XP Activation Crack Keygen Patch ?? HUH ??

Based on nihil's response I feel the need to clarify what I am looking for...

I have read several places that there are cracks, patches and even keygens that defeat the activation feature of Microsoft Windows XP.

Is this true?
Do they actually work?

If you know of a place were I can find out more about this please PM me or post.

Why am I asking:
I am a computer science student, focusing on programming. I have an interest in copyright protection concepts, like Microsoft's Activation or the thing Sony is doing with their music cd's (the Celene Dion cd), and would like to use the information I can obtain here in a report for one of my classes. Thus this is For educational purposes only.

I have a test system that I can boot and crash at my leasure, so I would be interested in actually testing the various methods and seeing if any of these actually work, and if they do how they work.

Any information that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
