Is it possible to use the upgrade edition of windows vista basic/premium to upgrade from windows xp64? I saw on the microsoft website that would have to do a clean install from with windows vista if you are using windows xp 64bit. Will the upgrade edition allow me todo the clean install, or will I need the full version for a clean install?

If you don't plan on moving vista to another machine you might consider buying the oem version which would do a clean install but is limited by the eula. I want a version of vista that will allow me to upgrade my machine later and not give me any crap about hardware changes.
