Windows XP 64bit questions

Hey,

I have not used x64 in a while, was thinking of putting it back on the rig now that things have matured a bit. My first question is about Internet Explorer 7 in x64. When I used it (during IE 6 days), it had a x32 and an x64 version of IE installed, does IE 7 finally unify both into just an x32 or x64 version or does it have seperate installs? ALso, are the cookies and addons shared amongst those two or are they in two seperate folders in my application data?

Also, from what I have read, it is best to use the nforce4 AMD driver on the nforce 3 ultra system, I presume this holds true? (that is what they are saying over at PlanetAMD64).

And has anyone tried the third party drivers section of Guru3d? Any security issues in the past like back doors?

I don't know about the drivers, but IE7 still maintains separate 32 bit and 64 bit versions. These seem to share cookies and cache - or so it seems from my limited experience, but I use Firefox 99% of the time.

Schad, XP x64 hasn't changed much and considering your past experience I would still advise against it.

There are still seperate installs because it's impossible for a 64-bit process to load 32-bit modules so no plugins except those provided by MS will work in the 64-bit version, unless people started recompiling their plugins and I didn't notice. They should share settings, cache, etc because that's just part of your profile and there's nothing 64-bit or 32-bit about it.
