My challenge to all AMD64 users....Show us all how fast 64bits for desktop uses will be....
I think a week should be enough time right??? Because it sounds like this thing is still a year away from release to the average public who do not want to be beta testers....

If it's still a year away from release to the average public, doesn't that mean there's room for substantial improvement? So these numbers may not be that accurate at all.

Has anybody tried it yet? Does it come with a full standard setup of drivers, Lan, video, sound, etc....?????
Commerce.MtsPipeline error '80004005'
Component Execution failed for component[0x2] hr: 0x80004005 ProgID: Commerce.RequiredOrderInitCy.1 Dictionary error: Value for key 'quantity' in dictionary 'Items(1)' is of the wrong type (expected a variant of type 3, got 8) (orderform=default)

I'm running it and it did have all the drivers I needed except audio and those don't appear to be anywhere so no audio for me with this OS@this time. It won't run AquaMark3 and the PCMock '02 and UT2K3 Demo bench scores were similar to the 32bit XP Pro, but 3DMock2k1se was 600points low but could be the 64bit Detonator betas fault. This is an older beta from what I can tell and it's definitely not playing nice with some software, and it doesn't have a zip utility in it, though it does include DX9.0b. POVRAY ran the same and my older CPU-Z didn't fully function so I DL'd the newest version and it's fine. I'll say this much for it so far, if it was any snappier I'd get whiplash, but it's got more bugs than Mr. Pratt from Creep ShowOriginally posted by: Marlin1975

Nope, but mine took a long time copying the last 5% of files needed for install as if it had to keep re-reading the disk for the data, as if the disk were dirty or damaged and it most assuredly is neither.Originally posted by: govtcheez75
anyone else getting hung up at the "installing devices" section of the install? The bar hasn't moved in about 10 minutes, but the flickering lights are still going across, and the background keeps changing. I don't hear any disks, or hard drive spinning though.

So far it's doing precisely dick with any of the 32bit apps brudda, no real negative effect but certainly nothing remotely on the order of a 20% performance increase. Whoever said that was wearing their fanboi gogglesOriginally posted by: Duvie

Yup. There will be a long wait before that is going to be released in a fashion that you would see notable increases. Given my recent experience with Mandrake Linux don't put much hope to it. Perhaps in 2005.It also desperately needs 64bit version software to run on it I'm thinking too.
