My harddrive just recently crashed and right as I was about to re installed windows i relaized..hey...i have a amd643500...maybe i should actually get this x64 thing. So here I am thinking about it and I thought I should get some opinions.

Does anyone have it and if so how do you like it?
Will i have enough support wtih my given hardware?
MSI Neo2Plat
6800GT EVGA
AMD643500
1gb Corsair XMS series
Audigy 1
One DVD burner, and one CD burner.
What programs will I not be able to run?
Will I actually see any kind of performance boost?

The only real advantage is the ability to use more than 4gb of ram. If there were more 64bit Apps to run it may have had a performance advantage, but with the vast majority still being 32bit there is none to be had. XP64 looks no different than XP, has no real noticeable advantages, nor has it any real improved/different features than XP.

All the hardware you list should work fine. Some games/app don't work properly in it, some apps such as Daemon Tools and other such tools don't work.

If I had the choice again, I'd go with XP Pro and not XP64. I don't have/need more than 4gb of ram and really the only people who ned XP64 are those requiring that much ram or perhaps those developing 64bit software. Every once in awhile something that doesn't work pops in my way, Flash, for example doesn't work so if a website uses it I'm SOL.

Yup. Flash doesn't work for either 64-bit or 32-bit browser. :)

I also couldn't get MSI's LiveUpdate to work on 64-bit as well as a couple other smaller applications.

I went back to 32-Bit for a bit. 64-bit just felt too much like the red-headed step child of the OS world. 64-bit support should really kick in with Vista and then what happens to XP x64 then? Yup, it's gonna be the Windows ME of this decade. :(

Flash works fine for me. I am using Firefox 1.5. Haven't tested IE 32-bit or IE 64-bit. Technically the 32-bit of IE that is bundled with Win x64 Edition should work because it is 32-bit and should support the regular old Macromedia plugin.
