Windows Won''t Update For DST

So a week ago I set my computers clock manually ahead an hour for dst since it never updated. Monday morning all is well. Tuesday however I wake up an hour late because the computer has decided to somehow sync back an hour, thereby syncing with my windows mobile smartphone throwing it back an hour as well. Well flash forward to this week all is well till about twenty minutes ago at midnight my clock syned back an hour again, even though i unchecked the sync boxes in windows clock manager.

I tured adding new time servers too and that did not work, so i unchecked all the boxes again (somehow sync had become checked again) and am hoping this works.

microsoft has made patches available to correct the dates of DST 2007. your not suppose to just bump the clock up an hour. your suppose to install the patch kb931836 from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931836. keep in mind i assume your using xp, but if your running win2000 you need tzedit to manually change the dates. once you change the dates DST occurs, you will no longer have these problems. if your using something very old like windows 98 or ME or even 95, MS wants some of your current $ for a new OS since they do not support those and did not issue patches. however, there are patches out there made by a 3rd party for free that will fix DST on those as well, MS does not support 3rd party software though.
