Windows won't let me add a printer

...since i learn if something is useful through trial and error and somehow I messed up my printer. So I turned back all the services to try to remedy the solution, but my printer doesn't work~ windows doesn't think anything is installed

and when I try to add my pritner (lexmark ml1710 laser) it says "Operation Could Not Be Complete"

and when I try a "repair" with my printer's drivers it goesw to a point and says :

sspnt2kxp: The RPC server is unavalible.

anyone have an idea? i need it to print out lots of paper (lol...that is what they are for)

guys its happenning again ><

why oh me!!! and i need to print out a LOT of pages this wekk (like 100+ b/c my stupid english teacher insists that if i have a source in which i borrow a quote, i need all 9 pages of that source printed and marked for easy access)...........

i try the stuff on that website, and it doesn't work anymore. Resetting the registry doesn't do anything, and neither tdo the other steps

the only change i have made is getting rid of norton and AVG to replace it with Panda Anti virus

can anyone help me?

i did more searching the M$ knowledge database

and it seems the spooler is off

but even after i turn it on, after a few seconds it immediately forces itself off....

does anyone have an idea as to what causes this? I tried my anti virus scan and found no viruses, and adaawre is fine

If the spooler is closing, you should have an event in the logs as to why.

agreed, look in the logs.

also, try deleting everything in c:\windows\system32\spool\printers and then start it, seen a screwed up job in the queue act like this before
