So I installed my SATA card because I needed a port for my DVD drive and whenever my computer goes to load windows it just restarts POST and will do that forever.

This is my SATA card, once I take it out it works fine, once its installed I get infinite POST. I tried to do a windows repair on it but windows wont repair itself with this POS installed. This is in my 2500K build. Can someone help me figure out how to get my computer to boot into windows with the SATA card installed?

is your bios set to boot from one of the standard sata ports or from the extra sata 3 ports? if the later, I suspect you need to change to one of the normal chipset based sata ports as the bios is trying to boot from the non-bios sata devices and the addon card is being selected as the boot device.

Failing that, the chipset on the addon card is different to the ones built into the motherboard is the next common issue i have seen (no fix but to replace the addon card).

Of course the next is that you need to try a different slot given issues with motherboard designs.

Does the SATA card show up in the boot order list in the BIOS? Can you remove it from the list?

Yes for both of those. Though I believe I have figured out the problem, my ASUS GTX 470, im not sure why but when I try to boot up with the card plugged into the top slot the computer wont enter windows. Its out right now and im using my bottom slot gigabyte GTX 470 and its working fine except that my entire screen is dark dark blue and I cant see anything that isnt black. Can someone help me given this new information?

I havent tried putting my gigabyte 470 in the top slot, nor have I tried the ASUS in the bottom to see if it works/gives me all blue. The ASUS card is a known working card while the gigabyte has never displayed an image since I bought it.

So I put my ASUS card back in the top slot, but took out the gigabyte one and VOILA bidness as usual. My color is back and my SATA card works perfectly now even with teh DVD drive plugged in. So what could be causing windows from not booting with dual cards installed? Even without an SLI bridge it still wouldnt boot. I havent tried the ASUS card in the bottom slot yet to see if its a damaged slot or card, but ill get to that sometime next week probobly.
