windows wlan manager

Can anyone recommend me a good wlan connection manager?

The windows xp default manager drops the connection when the signal quality is poor too early and won't reconnect again...

I used the thomson software before that came with my wlan adapter, it reconnected very often and I could be sure that at least 2 times a day the computer had an internet connection however this software doesn't support my new fritzbox modem.

I want to run my computers 24/7 and it should be able to connect automatically to the internet whenever it can even though the signal quality is often not very good.

Thanks

My first question is are you sure it is because of poor signal strength? many other wireless devices are on the signal bandwidth. I would recommend try chang the channels to a few different channels to see if that clears up your problem. You would do this from the wireless AP or router.
In regards to the wireles manager, you are generally stuck with zero config w/MS or your wireless card's manufacturer version of the utility. I had a generic WIFI usb stick that worked with a Dell manager once though, so perhaps you will luck out too.

Use the utility for your card. Windows zero config kinda sucks (the built in wireless support).

If you're having spotty signal then read the sticky at the top, changing channels to 1, 6 or 11 normally resolves it.

most modern cards have roaming aggressiveness settings in their drivers - this along with a proper wzero configuration can help you. i have a lenovo that came defaulted to a high aggressiveness and it would hop around our two wireless links (upstairs and downstairs) far too often and cause pain on the user. thankfully setting the roaming settings to low helped out alot.

I've tried all that before...

Does anyone have a clue how to write a script that tries connecting every x hours to my access point?
