Windows will not recognize a CDRW drive as a CDRW drive.

I have edited the registry with microsoft fixes. Still the same problem.
Reinstalled, removed drive, same problem.
added a different drive, same problem.

When I try to add files to the cdrw, it tells me that the files are read only.

There is no recording tab under the drive. Tried the fix for that, so solution there.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you logged in as Administrator when you try and do this stuff?

You could try to change the firmware of the cdrw.

Ditch the SCSI and buy an IDE CDRW, you can get 'em for like $25, which is far less than your time is worth.
