Windows Vista won't load on Dell Inspiron

This system has two new WD 500GB HDs in a Raid1 config; system says they are healthy before starting to load Windows. Windows won't load past the Welcome screen; won't load in Safe Mode; won't load from DVD drive, and takes forever to get as far as it does. I suspect either bad memory or a bad motherboard. Anybody have any ideas?

Also, are any Dell parts (case, power supply) usable if I want to rebuild this into a non-Dell system, with a new motherboard?

Check your BIOS settings.
AHCI, SATA/IDE, Raid...

Is this a fresh install? Did you just make that Mirror? Can you hit F8 and does the selection screen show up?
