Windows Vista Reinstall, cannot access old folders...

I recently reinstalled Vista as I kept getting a blue screen over and over after iTunes drivers install...

And by blue screen I mean before windows would even begin to show me a login screen. System restores failed, repairs failed. It was just not going anywhere before I decided to reinstall windows.

I remember doing this before for a friend and had no issues going to C: \Windows.old\Users\ then accessing the respective folders to get to desktop, documents etc.

This time around I get an access denied message. If I click allow and whatever prompt to get passed them, windows begins it's green loading bar across the address bar, and I *hear* the drive loading data, but after about a half an hour nothing ever came up.

Is there any way around this?

Edit: Never mind. Amazingly it works all of a sudden.

Mods can delete, thank you!
