Windows Vista Ratings scale?

Since, I got my 8800 GT my graphics score in VISTA went up to 5.9, my processor is also 5.9, my disk performance is 5.8 and memory is 5.5

My question is what is the highest score possible? If this is out of 10, I will have to try lot harder and shell out a lot of money to get there(not that I am actually going to try).

I could care less what my Vista Rating is, but my friends and I had a debate about this. I said the highest was 5.9 and my buddy says, he has seen computers at microcenter or best buy that have score of 7.0 or more.

Help me settle this. I tried googling it, but no luck, just some boring articles.

Currently the max is 5.9. Supposedly the Vista developers left themselves some breathing room (out of a possible of 10) and the max score will be re-evaluated every 18 months or so based on new hardware that's available and changed relative to that hardware's performance.

Your buddy is mistaken 5.9 is currently the highest score.

Or after reading hclarkjr's link your buddy may have seen some tampered scores.

Edit: Actually, I'll use that hack to show him a rating of like 9.0 or something insane like that. lol.

Better yet... do something reasonable that he will never achieve... but looks legit

like all 5.9's except for 2 6.0's

I'd say they need to re-evaluate it already, my system with an 8600 is 5.2, somebody with Crossfire 3850 or an 8880GTS would only get .7 more than me? that sucks ha.

Actually he might be telling you the truth I have windows 7 with an i-7 and my ratings are

cpu 7.5 memory 7.5. Maybe win 7 goes all the way to 10
