I have a purchased copy of Windows Vista Professional that I want to install on a HTPC I'm putting together. The HTPC doesn't have a DVD drive, so I want to be able to transfer my install disc to a USB stick. I'd rather not mess with the ISOs available online, because I'm not sure if they are the Professional version or not.

How can I transfer the install disc to a USB stick?

Have you tried the Windows usb tool? It's free and might work considering Vista and 7 are so similar. The only thing I don't know is if it will create a bootable usb drive when using a dvd as the source. You might have to rip the ISO from the dvd to your HDD and then use the tool.

Anyway here's the link if you want to check it out. http://wudt.codeplex.com/
