I had a dual-boot XP/Vista and I needed to recover some of the space for some video-editing. XP was the active partition. I removed the XP partition with gparted and moved the Vista partition to the left. I grabbed a partition editor and named the vista partition as active. I slap in the Windows Vista DVD and go to the recovery console. No matter what I do in the recovery console, from the automated to bootrec.exe I can't get Vista to boot. I even used easybcd's advice on nuking and replacing the boot partition. Help!!!

PS I would really not to have to reinstall the OS, but if it comes down to it then I will. My data is fine, ie backed-up.
