Windows Vista and Aero transparency

I noticed that when a window is maximized it loses its transparency together with the taskbar. Is it normal?

Yeah, it would be kinda annoying having things translucently cluttering a maximized window.

someone mentioned there is a reghack to disable this in another thread. Can't say I'm interested myself.

Sorry don't have it. The other thread I mentioned only mention there is one and didn't have links. I didn't have much luck locating who said it with a casual search either. Sorry 🙁

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/48464752/ might be a possible solution, you'll need a hex editor to edit the msstyles file. I also found out that your start bar will also lose transparency if you have the iTunes toolbar enabled.
