Windows Vienna in 2009

Vista = ME?

From all of the problems with it, and all of the things that Microsoft is doing in it that are limiting people's usage in it, it wouldn't surprise me if it was basically skipped over like ME was.

1) Immediately after releasing a new product announce to the world that there's basically no reason to buy the new product because a better product is right around the corner.

2) ?

3) Profit!

Yeah, supposedly, it'll have a new program that'll be able to ease up on your CPU, and some other stuff. Reason I'm hyped about Vista is that I heard about a Quick install, which operates like a console does. Which is pretty sick.

Yeah but if they say 2009 they mean 2012 and it will end up 2014.

Also people who go out and buy a new machine in the meantime will get Windows Vista and that's how 80 percent of people will get vista.

MAYBE 2014! Minimum system specs. QUAD cpu motherboard, 1000 watt psu, SLI Video cards that support DX12, and atLEAST 10 gigs of ram, and thats only if you don't want to run Halographic 2 😀Be aware that drivers from Nvidia, Creative ,and ATI, won't be available until 2015, and Vista drivers will no longer work.

If you don't keep your work force busy, then you have to lay them off. I suppose Vienna is just another word for SP1 or 2. 🙂

So, my question is, are we going to have to wait for Vienna to get WinFS and all of the other features that MS failed to include in Vista?

Last time I checked, maybe a year ago, WinFS and the other missing features were supposed to be released gradually for Vista and XP Pro features. However, I bet that timeline is now BS, considering that MS is releasing a new OS in two years AND that MS said that Vista was held up because of SP2 for XP.

Nope, Windows 7 (formerly Vienna) is totally new OS. SP1 is Fiji and SP2 codename is still unknown.

WinFS is scrapped, never going to appear as it was originally planned. Some parts of the tech will appear in some form, for example in SQL Server.
