Windows upgrade compliance check files?

Ok, back in the 98 days there was a way to copy over certain files to a floppy that the upgrade cd would look for. I am looking for the list of files so I can create a diskette instead of using the full CDs. I know you can put the full version of a 95 or whatever and it will bypass, I am looking for the specific files. Please post here if you know what they are, if not, then please do not post 🙂
