Windows Updates

For some reason after I restart my PC and I get the message configuring windows updates the progress stays at Zero and then says there was a failure configuring the updates and reverting back.

I have a 240 gig SSD for the c drive and 750 Gig SSD for the D Drive
I never had a SSD for the D drive before so i don't know if that is the problem.

I can throw in a old 1 terabyte Drive but I hate to hear the drive spinning up😉

Any ideas on what could be causing this problem?
 
Thanks but I figured out what was wrong. On a new build it wont install all the updates 300+ at one time you hve to pick what ones you want and not to many at a time 75 + seemed to work.

yeah i had this issue with store bought computers too. is it windows 8? i don't remember if i ever had this issue prior to 8, but i've had it on the two computers with 8 i've bought.
