Alright, I have a couple of servers that refuse to successfully update through Windows Update Webpage or Windows update client. I have individually downloaded the critical updates and will attempt to install them manually. I recieve the following error if I attempt to use the automated update.

You receive the "The following updates failed to install" error message when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update

The kicker is I searched Microsoft.com support and found an article link here:
Microsoft

The problem is when I follow the link the article isn't there. Anyone have any ideas on this problem or where to find another copy of that article?

Update: I found a post with some tips I am about to try found here

We'll see if anything in there helps.

Work around
I have just had a similar problem with a laptop. A colleage of mine has found this work around:

Bring up a command prompt and type 'proxycfg -d' to clear the proxy cache (if you are using one).

Type 'net stop wuauserv' to stop the automatic updates service.

Open Windows Explorer and browse to C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution. Delete the contents of this folder.

Go Back to the command prompt and type 'net start wuauserv' to restart the automatic updates.

Now retry Windows update.

or

go to services (control panel > administrative tools> services) and make sure Cryptographic Services is started.

one of the most common reasons downloads seem to fast is that they are already downloaded and may be incomplete or corrupt. If they are found in the WUTemp folder, they aren't downloaded again.
empty the c:\WUTemp folder (it could also be on other drives) and try the updates again
