Windows Updates download but don't install

I tried the fixes posted on 4 different websites.

I believe the problem is that I have two partitions on this hard drive, both with a diff copy of windows.

The one i'm trying to update gets the "E-Drive" so I think that may be cause of the problem

Is there a way to remedy this if somehow windows update isn't recognizing the partitions?

I never download updates for Windows, I think they are unnecessary.

And why would you think that?

How about if you go to the Windows Update site and update it from there what happens?
