Having this problem on my vista 64 machine. Tried deleting the temporary files but computer won't give access (said something was using them). Tried running the fixit tool and it won't completes, stops after telling me there is an error. I did manage to delete the temp files by going in on safe mode, but same result when I tried to run the tool.
 
also got this:

C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.
