Don't run a bootleg Windows OS, or no updates show up.

Run a legit one with a legit cd key 😉

Yep, or it would show something like this.....

Cannot Validate The Product Key

The product key used to install Windows is not valid. Please contact your system administrator or retailer immediately to obtain a valid product key. You may also contact Microsoft Corporation?s Anti-Piracy Team by emailing piracy@microsoft.com if you think you have purchased pirated Microsoft software. A lot of times it's because you already have the update installed. I had this same problem and after going through my add/remove programs, I saw that it was installed already.
