windows update site is slow to crawl for everyone right?

Yes..because the latest virus thing is set to attack the site.
The worm doesnt attack the site until the 16th I think, the load right now is just because of people scrambling to install years worth of updates to their OS.

yes
It is slow because every one finally realize they have to pass updates on their machines or at least are trying to download the patch for the msblaster...

blaster is set to launch DOS on windowsupdates AFTER the 15th of august

So was Microsoft supposed to have released a patch for this already? I went to Windows Update this morning and didn't see anything new. ::shrug::

hope elder people like grandmothers know how to fix this or there pc is going to attacking MS.

Yep, it's very slow. Not only the DDoS attacks (does it start today? I thought after the 16th of the month?) but it could be a lot of people updating. I remember when service packs were released, MS servers would be hammered as well.

I just downloaded the patch from Microsofts website @ 292kbps.

The update site not the plain site. Maybe the update site is on another computer which is getting pounded by millions of ppl and killing all the ram and hdd and than its going to blow up!

In a way, isn't this rush to download the patch an attack on the MS webservers?

😕

Last I heard update did not cover this. You had to go to a place on the technet at microsofts site to download the fix seperately. Found this on Slashdot.
