Guys,

I guess there's a first time for everything. First off let me say I've never had an issue w/ the Windows Update site, working under Win98SE. But, a recent update w/ the Intel Corporation - Storage has resulted in the following: both drive controllers now have exclamation points on them, and my hard drive doesn't show up in Device Mgr. The system seems to run as well as it did previously, but these developments are rather disconcerting.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get back to the previous state, short of a format and reinstall. I don't want to do anything that drastic at this stage, as I'm going to build a new machine shortly, and after that's completed this system will get a reinstall.

TIA,

Jeff

I've had driver updates that try and install but never compeletes from Windows Update, but no other problems to report other than that. My suggestion to you is to try and reinstall those device drivers and point the device installation wizard to your Win98SE install files/CD.
