I re-installed win2k server three times yesterday (plus a "repair previous install"), but now matter what I do, the moment I get it online and run windows update it says I have ZERO updates. Obviously this is hell-ass wrong. Has anyone seen this before?

I've seen this before, you need to format and reinstall Windows then the updates will be there..

could be that there's a problem at the windows site as that's happened to me in the past.
tried later & all was well!

I thought that so i tried the machine next to it. Worked fine (and oh man had I fallen behind on updates).

Plus the three installs included formating an 18 gig drive, which took a half hour in and of itself. So things were decently spread out over the afternoon.

Make sure the date is set correctly.

Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, Languages - make sure something is defined there.

I've seen this bug before. Try downloading and using the full network install of service pack 3, and THEN try getting the critical updates. It worked for me!
