windows update problem

Here's the problem: when i run windows update for windows 2k, everything downloads but it fails when it tries to install the updates through the ie browser.

the error msg: Could not be installed because of an unknown error. (-2147024770)

is this happening to anyone else too, or is it just me?

also, i was wondering if i could manually run the update (exe file?) after it downloads. what folder does it download into?

Never get this error message. Try to make a search of your files...

don#t know what the problem is here but suggest you first try repairing your IE using add|remove programs.
if that doesn't help then you can manually get your updates from here!
