Windows update help

While trying to get rid of a w32.bagle worm on my dads computer I reloaded windows xp over the old copy. Now when trying to load windows critical updates, there are 8 updates that will not load. KB835732, 828035, 825119, 828026, 826939, 824105, 823182, 824141. I tried downloading KB835732 from the windows update site and it still will not load. No more worm but know I can't load these updates. All help would be appreciated.

What error message do you get when you tried to download the updates?

I don't remember an error message. It loaded 10 out of 18 but these 8 came back in red saying they did not install.

do you have SP1 installed?

Do they not install even after a reboot?

If your error message said something about how those items failed to pass Windows logo verification testing... then the likely problem is that you have Cryptography services disabled.

I have found that for several of the critical updates, they have to be installed one at a time followed by a reboot after each install. If I don't do that, I get the messages you did listing the updates that did not install.

After reloading win XP, I did start, windows update and tried to download and install the updates. Most of the 18 to 20 updates loaded fine. Just the 8 I stated did not load. No error message other than it said they did not update and hit "retry" to try again, which I did to no avail. I even tried going to their download site to try this individually and it still didn't work.
