Windows update has NVIDIA 3.0.8.7 drivers.... anyone using them yet ????

Just checked Windows Update and found that they have a driver for nVida cards w/3087 listed.

First of all, I am using XP Pro... so I'm not sure on other OS's if you will get this....

Anyone updated and found any results ???

nVidia has no 3087 listed on thier site.... and I can't seem to find any info on the MS web....although I emailed support about this... nothing yet.

Are you using the default XP driver or have you installed detonator or 3rd party drivers already?
The reason I ask is the 3.0.8.7 looks like the driver version that shows in device manager which
will be different from what you see at Nvidia. Open your display properties > advanced and
click the Nvidia tab at the top, you should see a number like this 6.13.10.4041 the last
4 digits (40.41) should coincide with what you will see at Nvidia. If you don't have an Nvidia tab
then you probably have not installed any other drivers.

Oh yeah.... I have the 3082's

I haven't gone beta as I heard the quality was compromised some.... so I'm waiting for the next official release.

Hence my question.... on the MS update site, they list a 3087

So I was wondering if anyone had used them yet and what they found.

I'm using the beta Windows XP 40.71 drivers on my MSI GeForce4-Ti4400 and they seem fine to me. No problems (yet).

40.72 drivers seem to work well too. so far unreal 2003 runs great with them

I installed the 3087. Seem to be okay but I don't play games. As an added attraction there is now a "NVIDIA nView Desktop Manager" in Control Panel. Gives a lot of options that I haven't seen before but may be bundled with other drivers too.
