Windows update hangs

I did a search and don't think this is a repost.

I currently need 5 critical updates, all security ones for IE. I choose to install them, they all download fine, but then the installation is taking forever. The status bar is about halfway across, and it is just sitting there. Will it ever finish? Anyone else had this problem?

If i get frusterated and cancel out of it, all the updates fail, and I need to start over again.
 
Nevermind, I ended the process for Norton antivirus, norton speed disk, and my hp printer, and all the updates installed properly.
