windows update giving me fits...

ok somehow there is this windows update icon at the bottom right, and it keeps saying 0% dowloaded.. how can I make it go awayy!!?!?! arghhhhhh

I'm having the same problem. Why now, does this start happening? I've had this machine for over 1 year and its not started doing this until about 2 days ago.
