Windows update error

Since service pack 2 has been launched i cannot get any updates , i keep getting an error 0x80072EFD , I`ve followed the online instructions as to what may be causing this but to no avail . I use Norton Internet security 2004 which i have tried disabled thinking the firewall may be hindering the updates but it still wont have it , any ideas anyone , Many thanks

There haven't been any critical updates available since I installed SP2.

I know but what i am saying is i can`t get any updates at all i can`t even get service pack 2 which should show up in the updates , even using the automatic updates won`t download it .
