I purchased a G73 A1 in June and haven't done anything to it. I have posted in the asus support but have still not heard back from them. When I try to do a windows update I get error code 80246008. I found threads that the error code has to do with BITS. Per the thread I went to services and found that BITS failed. When I tried to start BITS I get error 126. I am not too computer savvy but I want to keep it up to date. Hope that someone can help.

I am using Windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

Try looking at the 'dependency' tab for the BITS service. Some other services may need to be running for it to work correctly. If so, try enabling/starting those services and see what happens. That's all I got

Try this first:

start/run: services.msc
double click on: Background Intelligent Transfer Service
change it to manual, and then click start ..if you get 2147024891 error..

Delete the two files in:

C:\Documents and
Settings\AllUsers\ApplicationData\Microsoft\Networ k\Downloader
