you need to reinstall the optimized ap also... I ran into this same problem when i updated video drivers... the work around is to un-install boince (don't worry... it doesn't dump your work units) and then install the video drivers. once the video drivers are up and running, you re-install boinc and then you're back up and running.
also there's a new vuda v12 vlarkill also... so any cuda V11 units you might have will get dumped when you run the cuda v12 version... the only work around for this is to just finish those units and then install the new optimized ap.

I've made it a practice to NEVER install the Windows Update video drivers. On every machine I work on, it always creates a problem.
