I have had that happen several times, and have fixed the problem, by selecting less updates at one time, and running it several times to get the needed updates.

Oops its too early in the am I was thinking about the times when the download would stop on me for no reason.

I did have that happen to me once "stuck in a loop" and reinstalled my OS, after several unsuccesful attempts to get my updates.

Hi!

If you are on high speed, this may work for you. In your internet options, click on the connections tab and then lan settings. In lan settings, there is a check box for automatically detect settings. Uncheck this box.

The problem I had was when I was trying to access windows update using the proxy server of my Cable company. (In my case Cogeco.) By unchecking this box, you are accessing the website directly.

Good luck.
