I've always used the Windows Update website to update my Windows XP Pro, and never the automatic updates feature. In the past I have never had a problem, but today while I was trying to get on Windows Update, it couldn't detect what updates I already had and therefore what I would need to install.
I then enabled "NT Kernel & System" and "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services" in Sygate (I normally have them set on ask, and when it randomly asks, I always answer no). Never allowing them access to the internet hasn't caused any notable problems for me in the past, why would that change today? And while we're on the subject of that, what should I do from now on about those two services? Allow or block them?
