Windows Update Agent - hopefully this is just a temporary MS cock-up

Normally one can download the most up-to-date Windows Update Agent from the Microsoft site, which is very handy in the event of the Windows Update components needing reinstalling (running the installer from the command line with /wuforce forces a reinstall).

However, Microsoft acknowledges that the latest version isn't available in standalone installer format, but they've also removed the /wuforce option from the version that is available. In the situation I encountered yesterday it was just lucky that a system restore fixed the problem, because it is quite common that after a more serious malware infection the Base Filtering Engine and other Windows Security-type components (like the firewall) have been removed from the registry (for which I have the registry entries saved and that usually does the trick).
