Windows tweaks tips, and changes after reinstall?

What kind of stuff do you usually do after a fresh install/reinstall of windows xp? I mean stuff like disabling messenger service, uninstalling MSN explorer, registry changes, disabling various services. I am reinstalling and need advice on what exactly can be done to streamline Windows.
