Info Windows turns 35 today!

The earliest Windows I experienced was 95, but NT was the first in a computer I owned.

My less-than-ethical half-sister and her husband were trying snatch custody from my mother and took my sister and I to Missouri for maybe a week or two. So I saw my first computer and hubby playing Solitaire.

Sophomore year of HS in 2006, the school still had Windows 95 computers and only upgraded in 2005 to XP.

The NT computer was actually a DOD computer that was a throwaway my piano teacher gave to us since we were of lower income. Her son went into the military. This was obtained 2002/2003ish. This was a pre-ATX computer.

The first PC I had access to when I was when I was 17 and a senior in high school. It was DOS, and then about 6 months later, it was updated with Windows 95 (retail upgrade that came several floppy discs and was bought in store at CompUSA by me 😀). I remember how much Microsoft was advertising it at that time on TV and computer magazines. It was a huge leap, and I began really getting more into computers after that.

The first OS I really liked though was Windows 2000. It was so stable compared to Windows 95/98. You were force to go with Windows NT if you wanted a stable PC, or Windows 98 if you wanted a fast / gaming system that had it's fair share of crashes.

While all the info is available online (and much faster to get), I kind of miss getting my monthly computer magazines in the mail. There was always something cool and interesting coming soon.
