I recently bought a new IMAC and had my PC files transferred. I am wondering if the MAC version of Turbo Tax will recognize the PC version and populate my previous info? Or is there something extra I need to do to make that happen?

Thank you

iMac. Mac.

If the files are in the same format, it should be ok. I don't think that they would do anything special to the files just because they were created on Windows or OS X. It isn't like an Office 07/10 .docx cannot be opened by Office 08/11.

Based on past experience, I'm fairly certain the .tax file format is cross-platform. Remember TurboTax (on 1 disc) is sold as dual-platform. TurboTax isn't as despised as its Intuit/Quicken overlords where Mac is treated as a 2nd-class platform.

However, I wouldn't simply assume other vendors mimic MS Office file compatibility as implied.
