Okay... we are implementing a time clock for people to kinda 'punch in' and 'punch out'. We were going to use something web based, but my CIO has asked me to figure out if there's anything out there that works with Windows logins, and Active Directory, so we don't have to do anything special.

Appreciate any help... Such a pain to find something like this!

Thanks!

Tell your CIO all his programmers and admins are going to quit. No, better yet, tell him you should use keylogging software to count keystrokes too, that way you'll really know whether the little bastards are working or not. ;)

Dude I'm on my way out... so I don't care. I am just going to keep looking good until I'm actually out the door. Trust me, I don't like the idea either.

add a domain login script that echo a "%username% logged in %time% or whatever to a network text file.

And then the programmers and admins can write themselves scheduled scripts that log them in at 9:00 :).

then what happens if you need to reboot multiple times per day?

we use something from G. Neil called Optima Timestation, it works pretty good. Separate login, but we made it be the same as their username and last for of SSN for password.

but managment won't see that loophole :)

If someone is abusing the system, punish the abuser, don't lock down the company.
