Windows time bug?

My windows time keeps changing on its on- a half hour forward or back or 15 min.. WTF is wrong? is there some type of bug out there? This is so weird.

Two options:
1. Fix your time zone
2. Disable internet time updates

Both of these are in date/time properties that can be viewed by double-clicking the time.

1. My time zone is correct (CST)
2. Auto synchronize is on, "update now" corrects the time when I click it.

I guess so, if it isn't jumping by fixed amounts of time. Does it actually jump, or just drift away from the correct time?

I think its more drifting away. I don't thnk it's doing it consistantly.

Battery isn't used while the system is booted. If your system is loosing time while running windows, its a software problem. Start killing the processes in the background one at a time till you figure out which is doing it.

My first suspects would included syncronization software and antivirus software. If after eliminating all the processes it still drifts, then it could be a driver.
