Windows/Temp

This is driving me crazy. Vista 32. Internet explorer has started to create in the Windows\Temp directory History, Cookies & Temp Files foloders. I believe each user should have their own set of folders in Users\******.

I have seen this in the past on other machines when there is a file system hiccough but usually a reboot fixes it. I can't get rid of it for anything. I have rebooted, checked settings, manually deleted, etc.

Where else can I look?

In Internet Explorer click Tools in the menu bar, then Internet Options. In the middle of the dialog you'll see 'Browsing History.' Click the 'Settings' button in that section. The dialog that pops will show you where the folder is currently located, and you can choose 'Move Folder' and take it from there. Some place to start, anyway.

Yes I found that. It is pointing to the correct location. I tried re-moving it and it still wants to create the temp folders in Windows/Temp. Maybe I will try moving it to Windows/Temp and then back to where it should be.

This is normal and for backwards compat. You should see the cookies and history folders are empty, the temp folder is there for apps who's temp files aren't per user.

I never saw it there on my old machine. I will have to look this evening to see that it is empty.
