Windows Vista Ultimate x64.
this problem started recently.
around a week ago, i installed 2x 1.5 TB harddrives in my machine as a raid1 array. (just a storage array, no programs run off it) (using ICH9R Bios Raid)
since then, sound has been somewhat choppy. i decided to try updating sound drivers, and figured why not, and updated video drivers as well. both installed without issue, but the sound choppiness wasn't solved. (i installed properly, cleaning out old drivers before installing new)
yesterday or day before, my machine BSODed. i cant find the error that caused it in event log, but what matches up to the timestamp (roughly) is something about a WMP network discovery service failing to run. (doesnt seem like the type of thing that would bluescreen.)
since then, sound had been REALLY choppy. i rebooted, and noticed that the array was in rebuild status. i guess the BSOD killed the array.
i let the machine sit for approx 12 hours while i did other stuff on it. (all this time it was pretty choppy just using the machine. mouse cursor jumping around occasionally, game sounds cutting out every 5 seconds, etc.) it cleared up, i DLed intel's matrix storage manager, so that i could check array status from within windows, installed and rebooted.
the array status is healthy now, the choppyness is gone from the machine. now the only symptom of an unhealthy computer is the fact it still takes approx 3 minutes from clicking "shutdown" to actually exit windows. i tried running hijackthis to see if there's a virus or something of that nature, and at the end of the hijackthis log, it seems there's a lot of files missing from services. i'm not sure what to make of it. i'll post the log in the code section.
anyone have any suggestions as to where to go from here?
EDIT:
i dont fucking understand it. i cant fucking post this fucking logfile no matter what i do. fuck fusetalk. fuck fusetalk in its fucking ass.
:/
EDIT:
uploaded it to my webhost. fuck fusetalk.
