Windows Stop Error - Says "Solution: NO"

I got an e-mail from a friend today that said her computer is having a "windows stop error problem." She said that she called her tech and he said that usually updating the motherboard will solve the problem.

I asked her what the error was, and even though I don't think this is exact, she said that she can leave her computer and go back to it and it will be a black screen. Sometimes when she is on it (like browsing the web) it went black and will come back on in safe mode. She said the error was:

ERROR TYPE: Windows Stop Error
Solution: NO
Needs to Restart
Device Driver Causing the Problem

Of course this above isn't exactly what it showed, because she said she doesn't know which device driver. This sounds very strange and was curious what is the best advice I could give her?

She called "her tech?" Is this a company computer? Tell her to call her tech back and have him replace the motherboard then.

If it's not a corporate computer have her disable the autoreboot crap and get the real error message.

Sounds like someone monitoring a Corporate Error Reporting server. She filled the report to MS and the response was inconclusive.

Edit - ask her to get the Online Crash Analysis memory tester (if it is CER) and run the memory test on the computer. MS created a memory tester because a portion seemingly random crashes were memory problems. Or do it yourself

Edit edit - BTW, I suspect that this is the same memory tester that is on the Vista DVDs as a menu option.
