I probably wouldn't reinstall for another 2-3 months. I just got back into school and competition band.

...And you're still having an update error? Can you try deleting
Code:
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download
and trying again? If you do not grab that self update, you will be unable to retrieve any further updates.

Additionally, you said you were on the "latest" 64 bit Windows...is that Win7, 8 or 8.1? ninaholic37 just said you were on Windows 8...but your Windows Update log tells me you're running Windows 7 with SP1 installed...?

Code:
* OS Version = 6.1.7601.1.0.66304

Don't mean to be a pain here, but 7 is not the "latest." Try to answer questions a little more precisely if you want the free help.

I was asking for reasons of clarity really...for a moment I wondered if somehow the log was reporting a different OS version than what the rest of Windows was reporting. :)

Try deleting the downloads cache and going at it again. That might resolve the issue, if there was download corruption (though, in the case of a signature not checking out, windows should discard the file immediately - it's a long shot, but it might work.)

If that doesn't work and it's the same error, we can look into other possibilities which range from the content not being signed correctly, or your system not having the correct root certificate.

I could have sworn I put 7 in the thread title. I can see why 64-bit home premium didn't make sense then. :p

Beyond that I am still not able to access my PC. I will be back.
