yesterday i installed DKU-2 Software for Nokia 6585 connection to my laptop.
After installation, i decided not to use them and uninstall it again.
After successfull unistallation, it asked for the laptop to be restarted. Instead of restarting it, i shutdown the laptop and went for dining.
Today i start my laptop, everything goes well until the welcome message appeared. Then it delayed there for about 5 minutes, before finally starting all the start-up programs. What happened to my laptop? I hate to re-install them cos it's a new one and it took me about a day to install all the programs i needed. Is there a way to fix this?
I have used all programs in Norton systemworks, and nothing seemed to fix them. Please advise.

Try this:

1) Start > Run > msconfig *Enter*

2) Go through the MS Config utility's tabs for the Services.

3) Put a checkmark in the box that hides all the Microsoft services and see what's left. Anything in there relating to the Nokia software? If so, you might try disabling it there.

If that doesn't help, you might run HijackThis and post the output here. In this case it's not malware I'd be looking for, so much as just programs in the startup routine that you might be able to disable in HJT.
