Windows Sounds

I recently reformated, so I was browsing around using IE6 while downloading drivers and such, and I realized, is there really a need for ANY Windows sounds (i.e. retarded "click" each time a link is opened or windows shutdown/startup) esp. for experienced users?

EDIT: I just disabled them all, I'll see how it goes.

That's one of the first things I do after a fresh install, disable all system sounds.

yeah it makes so much sense, im not sure why I didn't think about it before 😕

I like the folder click because it lets me know if I my mouse didn't screw up or something when double clicking on a folder.

thanks and I like some of the sounds.
when my machine shuts down, I use the sound from quake2 - when you grab the quake rune (what is that thing called, that gives your weapons extra killing damage?)

thats only half-way... after you do this you need to goto tools - options -view tab, and then apply to all folders.

I have a sound of Stewie Griffin saying "UNACCEPTABLE!" when it normally be a sound for doing something wrong. I use a clip from a movie when I get mail. Mr T says, "Mail, motherfvcker!". I also have Matthew Lillard as Shaggy from The SCooby Doo movies saying "Zoinks."

You guys are squares... 🙂

i just turn off windows shutdown noise and change the windows startup noise to a wave of thunder that plays throughout all my speakers (creative!).
